Multiple IRA Options From a Leading Christian Investment Company

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) were established to promote savings, supplement retirement income and lessen the burden on Social Security. IRAs offer tax-deferred growth on investments, and depending on the type of IRA selected, withdrawals may be either taxable or tax-free. Unlike 403(b) plans, annuity payout options are not available with IRAs. There are two types of IRAs: a Traditional IRA and a Roth IRA. GuideStone Funds also offers the ability to move assets from other retirement plans into a GuideStone IRA (IRA Rollover).

Traditional IRA
In a Traditional IRA, some participants are eligible to make tax-deductible contributions, while others are limited to make nondeductible contributions. Assets placed in a Traditional IRA grow tax-deferred, meaning you don’t pay taxes on earnings and deductible contributions until they are withdrawn. Required minimum distributions normally begin when you attain age 70½. Open a Traditional IRA...

Roth IRA
With a Roth IRA, you must pay taxes on contributions, but once assets are in the account they grow tax-deferred. Withdrawals are tax-free provided certain Internal Revenue Code requirements are met, and there are no required distribution requirements, so money you invest can be left to continue to grow tax-free for as long as you live. GuideStone Funds IRA requirements:
Initial investment per fund — $1,000
Subsequent purchases per fund — $100
Exchanges from another fund — $250
Minimum account balance per fund — $1,000
*IRA accounts will be assessed a $12 annual custodial fee. (Only one fee per Social Security number.)

IRA Rollover
A rollover is a withdrawal from an IRA or employer-sponsored retirement plan that is reinvested in a GuideStone Funds Traditional IRA. Types of rollovers accepted by a Traditional IRA are a Traditional IRA, 401(k), 403(b) and Governmental 457(b) plans. Non-deductible contributions can only roll over into another IRA. A Roth IRA can transfer into another Roth IRA.
